Who has acupuncture ?
Many people come to acupuncture for help with specific symptoms or conditions.
It is common for people to report that, as well as gaining relief from their specific symptoms, their general well-being also improves with acupuncture. Sometimes people come for treatment purely because they want to feel better within themselves - sleeping easier, feeling more energetic and at ease.

Is acupuncture safe?
Acupuncture has a very sound track record for safety. The British Acupuncture Council (BAcC) is a registering body for professional acupuncturists. The primary aim of the BAcC is to safeguard the public. To this end it demands high standards of education, ethics, discipline and practice. Members of the BACC carry the letters MBAcC (member of the British Acupuncture Council.) Members have completed appropriate training, abide by the council's codes of safe practice and professional conducted and are properly insured. You can visit the BAcC website at www.acupuncture.org.uk. In Scotland, all acupuncturists must be licensed by their relevant local council. This means that both premises and working practice are inspected regularly to ensure a high standard of safety and sterility.
